Caching

  • Enable Cache – Improves site performance by storing temporary data for faster page loading.
    It’s recommended to keep this enabled for better speed and reduced server load.

Debugging

  • Script Debugging – Loads unminified .css and .js files to help developers inspect or troubleshoot code.
    Enable this only during development or when diagnosing an issue.

Uninstall

  • Remove Data on Uninstall – When enabled, Directorist will permanently delete all its data (including settings and listings) upon plugin removal.
    Use this option carefully if you want a complete cleanup after uninstalling.

Click Save Changes after adjusting your preferences.

Enabling schema markup improves visibility and click-through rates on Google and other search engines.

To access , WP Admin Dashboard → Directory Listings → Settings → Advanced → Schema Markup

Enable Schema Markup

Toggle this option to activate schema markup across your directory listings. Once enabled, Directorist will automatically add structured data (JSON-LD format) to listings based on the selected schema type.

Apply Schema To

  • All Directories – Applies a single schema type to all directories (ideal if your site uses one main directory).
  • Per Directory – Lets you assign different schema types for each directory (useful for multi-directory sites).

Schema Type

Select the type of schema that best represents your directory listings. Available options include:

  • BusinessEvent – For business-related events, workshops, or conferences.
  • ApartmentComplex – For real estate or rental directories.
  • Event – For general events, or gatherings.
  • Festival – For cultural, community, or festivals.
  • JobPosting – For job board directories.
  • LocalBusiness – For local business listings such as restaurants, salons, or shops.

After selecting your preferred schema type, click Save Changes to apply structured data across your listings for improved SEO and rich search presentation.

To access the settings, WP Admin Dashboard → Directory Listings →  Settings →  Advanced →  Title & Meta (SEO)

Overview

Enabling SEO allows you to define custom meta titles and descriptions for key directory pages. By default, Directorist automatically uses each page or listing’s title and description for meta data, but you can override them here for better keyword targeting and control.

Available Fields

You can set Meta Title and Meta Description for the following pages:

  • Add Listing Page
  • All Listings Page
  • User Dashboard Page
  • Author Page
  • Category Page & Single Category Page
  • All Locations Page & Single Location Page
  • Registration Page
  • Login Page
  • Search Home Page
  • Search Result Page

Additional Notes

  • Enable SEO: Toggle this option to activate Directorist SEO management.
  • Defaults: If you leave a field blank, Directorist will automatically use the page title and description set in WordPress.
  • Search Result Page Meta Title: You can choose dynamic title generation (e.g., From User Search) to reflect user queries.

After setting custom meta information, click Save Changes to apply and optimize your directory pages for search engines.
