You can control global colors for buttons, maps, and brand elements to maintain a consistent visual style across your directory pages.

To access this page Directory Listings → Settings → Personalization

Brand

  • Brand Color – Choose a global color that represents your brand. This color is applied to headings, highlights, and other key interface elements across your directory pages.

Button

  • Button Type – Select the default button style used throughout your site.
    Available options:
    • Primary – Used for main actions such as SaveSearch, or Submit.
    • Secondary – Used for supportive actions or less prominent buttons.
  • Text Color – Define the color of text within buttons.
  • Background Color – Set the background color for the selected button type.
    (Use the preview box to instantly see how your button will look.)

All Listings Map Marker

  • Marker Shape Color – Adjust the color of the map marker’s shape shown on all listing maps.
  • Marker Icon Color – Choose the icon color inside the marker to improve visibility and match your brand palette.

Click Save Changes after customizing to apply your preferred colors and styles site-wide.

Navigate to Directory Listings → Settings → Email → General to manage how Directorist sends email notifications to admins and listing owners.

Sender Details

  • Sender Name for Emails – The name that appears in the “From” field of all emails sent by Directorist.
  • Sender Email Address – The address used to send system-generated emails.

Email Notifications

  • Disable All Email Notifications – Toggle this to completely stop all system emails.
  • Admin Email Address(es) for Notifications – Add one or more admin email addresses (comma-separated) to receive notifications.
    Example: admin@example.com, support@example.com

Admin Notifications

Choose when the admin should receive an email:

  • Order Created / Completed
  • New Listing Submitted
  • Listing Approved or Published
  • Listing Edited
  • Payment Received
  • Listing Deleted
  • Listing Contact Form Submitted
  • Listing Review
  • Listing Renewed

Listing Owner Notifications

Select when listing owners are notified:

  • Order Created / Completed
  • New Listing Submitted
  • Listing Approved or Edited
  • Payment Received
  • Listing Deleted
  • Listing Contact Form / Review
  • Listing Renewed
  • Listing Expiry Alerts (Nearly Expired, Expired, or Reminder to Renew)

After updating preferences, click Save Changes to apply your email settings.


Email Templates

Navigate to Directory Listings → Settings → Email → Templates to manage all email messages sent automatically by Directorist. Each template can be customized to match your tone or branding using text or shortcodes.

Below is a list of available templates and when they are triggered:

  • New Listing Submitted – Sent to the admin when a user submits a new listing for review.
  • Approved/Published Listing – Sent to the listing owner once the admin approves or publishes the listing.
  • Edited Listing – Sent when a user updates an existing listing.
  • Expired Listing – Notifies the listing owner that their listing has expired.
  • Renewal Listing Reminder – Sends a reminder email before a listing expires.
  • Renewed Listing Confirmation – Sent when a listing is successfully renewed.
  • New Order (Received) – Confirms a new order to both admin and customer.
  • New Order (Payment Received) – Sent after payment is successfully processed.
  • Completed Order – Sent when an order is completed.
  • Listing Contact Form – Triggered when a visitor sends a message to the listing owner through the contact form.
  • Registration Confirmation – Sent to users after successful registration.
  • Email Verification – Sent to users to verify their email address after registration.

Each template supports merge tags (e.g., {listing_title}{user_name}{site_name}) for dynamic content personalization.
After editing, click Save Changes to update your email templates.

Navigate to Directory Listings → Settings → User → Registration Form to customize how the registration form appears and behaves on your site.

Each field on this page can be enabled, renamed, or marked as required.

Available Fields

  • Username, Password, Email – Core fields required for registration.
    • You can edit labels and toggle the “Required” option.
  • Website, First Name, Last Name, About/Bio – Optional fields.
    • Enable only if you want to collect additional user info.
  • User Type Registration – Allows users to select their role (e.g., Author, User).
  • Privacy Policy – Enable and set custom label and link text for the policy agreement.
  • Terms & Conditions – Enable and customize text and link for the terms checkbox.
  • Sign-Up Button – Modify the button text.
  • Login Message – Display a message like “Already have an account?” with a login link.
  • Auto Login After Registration – Automatically log in users after registration.
  • Redirection After Registration – Choose where users will be redirected (e.g., Sign In page or Dashboard).

After completing changes, click Save Changes to apply them.


Login Form Customization

Navigate to Directory Listings → Settings → User → Login Form to personalize the login form layout and text. Each field and message can be customized for better user experience.

Available Options

  • Username – Edit the label (e.g., “Username or Email Address”).
  • Password – Customize the label displayed beside the password input.
  • Remember Login Information – Enable or disable the “Remember Me” option and modify its label.
  • Login Button – Change the button text, for example, “Log In” or “Sign In.”
  • Sign Up Message – Display a message for new users such as “Don’t have an account?” with a custom link text for registration.
  • Recover Password – Enable password recovery and configure:
    • Section name and description
    • Email label and placeholder
    • Recovery button text (e.g., “Get New Password”)
  • Redirection After Login – Choose where users will be redirected after logging in (e.g., Previous Page, Dashboard).

Once customization is done, click Save Changes to update the login form settings.


User Dashboard Customization

Navigate to Directory Listings → Settings → User → Dashboard to control what users see in their personal dashboard. You can enable or rename tabs, set listing display preferences, and manage author options.

Profile & Favorites

  • Display My Profile Tab – Enable or disable the profile tab and rename its label.
  • Display Favourite Listings Tab – Show or hide the favorites tab and customize its label.

Author Dashboard

  • Display My Listing Tab – Enable the “My Listings” section for authors and rename it if needed.
  • Listings Pagination – Control whether listings are paginated.
  • Listings Per Page – Define how many listings appear per page.
  • Display Submit Listing Button – Show or hide the “Submit Listing” button directly on the dashboard.

User Dashboard

  • Display “Become an Author” Button – Enable the option for users to upgrade to author status and edit its label.

Click Save Changes after configuring your preferred dashboard layout.

The All Authors page displays all directory authors on your site. It’s optional. Admin can show it by creating a new page with the shortcode [directorist_all_authors] or by adding the All Author block in the WordPress block editor.

This settings panel controls how the All Authors page looks and functions.

Key Options

  • Number of Columns – Set how many author cards will appear per row.
  • Display Alphabet Sorting – Enable alphabetical sorting by author name.
  • Display Image / Name – Show or hide the author’s profile photo and name.
  • Select Role – Choose which user roles to display (e.g., Author, Contributor, or All).
    This helps you limit visibility to specific types of users or listing owners.
  • Contact Info – Select which contact fields (Phone, Email, Address, Website) are shown.
    Note: Email visibility is limited to logged-in users.
  • Display Description – Enable author bio with a word limit.
  • Display Social Info – Show connected social profile links.
  • Display All Listings Button – Add a “View All Listings” button for each author and customize its label.
  • Paginate All Authors – Enable pagination and set how many authors appear per page.

After customizing, click Save Changes to apply settings to your All Authors display.
